The Life Science Academy is a dual-credit program for gifted students interested in pursuing careers in science or human health.
We are a multi-district program, serving Apollo High School, Daviess County High School, Owensboro High School, Owensboro Catholic High school and Hancock County High School. Students take four year-long courses with us through Owensboro Community and Technical College and earn a total of 16 college credits. We operate under Community Campus, a collaborative between local industries and educational partners to move our students forward in high-demand fields. We are also part of the Project Lead the Way initiative and were recently accredited. All our courses are inquiry- and problem-based, meaning our students don't just learn science, they do it; by applying the scientific method to solve real-world problems and investigate their own research questions, our students are building the skills they need to become the next great generation of researchers and health professionals.
